Van
Dusseldorp & Partners activities can be divided into three groups:
Pan European Internet research, TV meets the Web, and PR and Organisation
activities.
Monique
van Dusseldorp, Founder and CEO
Monique
van Dusseldorp (1965) is the founder and CEO of Van Dusseldorp & Partners,
an Amsterdam based research company focussed on European internet developments.
Van Dusseldorp & Partners provides research
and analysis, pan-European data gathering, access to new media networks,
as well as project management and organisation. Activities include the
TVmeetstheWeb
seminars and network, newsletter Europemedia,
as well as IPtop, an award for best
European online publication.
Van
Dusseldorp also initiated the non profit European
Internet Seminars Associations which organises an annual summerschool
for graduate students and young professionals from Central and Eastern
Europe as well as Africa (organised and developed in cooperation with Isoc
and the Amsterdam Maastricht Summer University.)
Van
Dusseldorp previously worked at the European
Institute for the Media in Dusseldorf, Germany, which she joined in
1992 when it was still based in Manchester. She later became the institute's
Director of Communications and a member of the management team. From 1997
to 1998 she worked as a media analyst for Dutch publishing and media house
Wegener Arcade.
Van
Dusseldorp is an advisor to a number of organisations on Internet issues.
She
is a trustee of the 21st Century
Trust (London), a Member of the Board of the Interactive Professionals
Association Netherlands (Ipan), a Member
of the Jury of the Stockholm
Challenge (previously the Bangemann Challenge) and a Member of the
Jury of the US
Interactive Newspaper awards.
Van
Dusseldorp is also an adviser to start up OOIP,
a Member of the Board of Dutch public broadcaster NPS,
a Member of the advisory committee "Verkenningen
ICT of the Dutch 'Adviesraad voor het Wetenschaps-
en technologiebeleid', and she was a Member of the "Brinkman Committee'
which advised the State Secretary for Transport, Public Works and Water
Management on the location for Kenniswijk,
a public/private partnership to establish a large scale broadband applications
pilot in Eindhoven.
The
Online
Journalism Review listed Van Dusseldorp among the "50
International names to know on the Internet".

Sales and Marketing
Lucie Hime, Director of Sales and Marketing
Formerly Associate Publisher at Elsevier Business Information in
Brussels, Hime has worked within Reed Elsevier in the UK and continental
Europe for 10 years. Her experience in the print and online publishing
and advertising industry largely specialised in B2B European markets in
sectors such as retail, hospitality, drinks/duty-free and electronics.
Major accounts handled included Tesco, Jaffa, St Ivel, Nestle, LVMH,
Allied Domecq, Seagram, Texas Instruments and Xemics. Her most recent
project was the planning and development of a B2B portal site –
hyperelectronics.com - for design engineers in the European electronics
and telecoms markets.

Internet Research
Matthijs Leendertse, Senior Research
Associate
Matthijs Leenderste studied Communications at the University of Amsterdam. His
past academic research includes work on the market liberalisation in Europe's
telecom markets, the auctioning of UMTS frequencies in the Netherlands
and the possibilities for corporations to launch free ISP's in The
Netherlands. He worked for the Amsterdam School of Communications Research
on a project on off- and online Financial and Economic Information provision
in The Netherlands. Specialist areas of research include: ISP's markets
in Europe, broadband Internet developments and Internet content providers.
He is a co-author of 'Broadband Landscape Europe: Market Assessment and Forecast to 2003', a report published in January 2001 in cooperation with Screendigest.

Dr. ir. Frans van Mieghem, Senior Research Associate
Frans van Mieghem studied in the Netherlands, UK and France, and has a PhD in
Biochemistry and Biophysics, as well as a post graduate degree in journalism.
Previously he worked as a scientific reporter, and as researcher in universities
and institutes in France and the Netherlands.

Ashley Smith, Senior Research Associate
Ashley Smith graduated in Investment and Financial Markets. Until recently, he
worked as a Senior Information Researcher at Deutsche Bank in London. Previously
he was an Information Researcher at Goldman Sachs International, and an
Investment Manager for Cox Insurance Holdings/Lloyds of London. His most
recent work included an overview of online financial services in 15 European
countries, produced in cooperation with Proactive
International.

Marta Iglesias, Researcher
Marta Iglesias holds a BA in Communication Science from the University of
the Basque Country in Spain. She has recently completed a MA in European
Communication Studies with a focus on public television at the University of
Amsterdam. Previously, she has taken part of different exchange programmes
in the University of Karlstad (Sweden) and New York University (USA).

Marco Cuccu, Research Asssistant
Marco graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in International Economics from
Hogeschool Limburg in Sittard, the Netherlands. At the moment he is studying
Business Management and Economics at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

Europemedia
Sean Cornwell, Content Manager & Producer Europemedia.net
Sean Cornwell is the Editor of Europemedia.net, the European New Media website and
newsletter which offer an overview of internet, telecoms and technology news from
around Europe. An international team of expert editors, as well as the Van Dusseldorp
research team, contribute to the website. Previously Sean was with the Financial Times
of London. He has also worked as Director of European Sales for Pangea Sport, an
American fashion company that worked with European Universities. Sean is bi-lingual
in English and Italian and holds a degree in Social and Political Sciences from Cambridge
University.

TV Meets the Web
Deborah Carter, Director of Business Development
Until recently, Deborah Carter worked for Times Company Digital, The New York Times' Internet division. Prior
to this, she worked for America Online/Digital City South Florida
where she specialised in building online communities of loyal customers using
interactive features such as chat, message boards, instant messaging,
and Web surveys. Ms. Carter's TV experience includes working as production
coordinator at WETV, a global TV network based in Canada. Her Internet
strategy training includes completion of the Newspaper Association of
America's New Media Minority Fellowship (1998) and The Poynter Institute
for Media Studies' Media Leadership Fellowship (1996). Ms. Carter is
one of the judges for the Newspaper Association of America's Digital
Edge Awards which recognize newspaper new media products that demonstrate
originality, innovation, interactivity and depth of content.

Dessi Damianova, Newsletter Contributing Editor
Dessi Damianova recently completed an attachment at the BBC World Service
in London, where she produced news programmes and features. Previously she worked
as Political editor at THE SOFIA ECHO (a Sofia-based English language weekly),
writing and editing domestic and regional news items and analysis, and
as Foreign desk editor at STANDART (political and business daily). Ms
Damianova holds a Master degree in Journalism and Mass Communication -
Sofia University, and a degree in Arab Philology from Damascus University.
She is contributing editor for the TV Meets the Web Newsletter and Europemedia.net

Event Organization / Public Relations
Danielle Rossel, Project Manager
Danielle studied Translation and Interpreting in Maastricht and is a certified translator in both English and French. After her graduation, she continued her education at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, where she graduated in Lexicology, and chose Terminology and Translation as a major. In the final year at the university, Danielle worked as an intern at Berlitz GlobalNET in Amsterdam, where she helped set-up a terminology management system, to be used in the multi-lingual software localisation projects. After completing the internship, she stayed on at Berlitz to work as a Project Coordinator for almost two and a half years. During this period she spent a couple of months in Dublin, at Berlitz GlobalNET's European headquarters, where she worked as a Team Leader and contact person for Berlitz Amsterdam. After this, she worked as an Account Coordinator at an advertising agency in Hilversum, the Netherlands. In October 2000, Danielle joined Van Dusseldorp & Partners.

Madeleine Grimhusen, Project Manager
Madeleine Grimhusen studied in Sweden, UK, France and Canada. She holds a BA degree in economics, specializing in marketing, as well as a post graduate degree in journalism. Until recently, Ms. Grimhusen worked as a TV producer at K-World in Stockholm. Her experience in the world of television includes reporting, producing and hosting programs in Sweden and in Canada.

Ana Henderson, Project Manager
Ana Henderson graduated from Victoria University (Wellington, NZ) in 1996 with a Bachelor's degree in Performance Violin. She has been living and working in London for the last two years - temping in various capacities - most recently at Andersen Consulting as an Information Research junior.

Raluca has a BA degree in International Business Administration from "OVIDIUS" University in Romania. Previously she worked as a market research operator for The Gallup Organization and was the human resources department coordinator for AIESEC Constanta, Romania (International Organization of Students in Economics and Management).

Priya Stocks
Priya Stocks has a background in administration and funder liason and has worked
in England and India for ActionAid, Christian Aid (International Non-Governmental
organisations), and the Royal National Institute for the Blind (British
Non-Governmental Organisation). She has also worked more directly with
the severely disabled and the visually impaired and is a trained yoga teacher.
