About the EIS Association Advisory Council Background Programme & presentations Speaker biographies Participants Handbook Network |
The European Internet Seminars Association was established in 1999 by the Dutch chapter of the Internet Society (ISOC) and Van Dusseldorp & Partners. It is the aim of the European Internet Seminars Association to bring students and young professionals from all corners of Europe in contact with high-ranking policy makers and corporate strategists and with each other to discuss European Internet developments. To this end the Association will organise the European Internet Seminars, an annual summer school focusing on specialised internet-related topics, set up a network for students and young professionals and the publish an annual handbook on European Internet developments. The first European Internet Seminars have taken place from 28-30 July 1999 within the framework of the Amsterdam-Maastricht Summer University. This three-day seminar focused on how new internet-related policies in Europe are being created. A group of 30 international participants attended the programme, to which a number of high-ranking professionals and professionals have contributed. All presentations given during the summer school will be published in a handbook, complemented by statistical material. This handbook will be excellent reading material for any individual interested in European internet development, and will provide analyses as well as background data. The first handbook will be published in October 1999. If you are interested in the handbook or in updates on the activities of the European Internet Seminars Association, please contact us. |
