About the EIS Association

The European Internet Seminars are organised by the European Internet Seminars Association. The association has been set up by the Internet Society (ISOC) Netherlands, and Van Dusseldorp & Partners in 1999. The projects developed by the European Internet Seminars have a not-for profit character.

The European Internet Seminars have been established with the aim to raise the awareness of the impact the European Information Society will have on the socio-economic framework through the offering tuition in the field of European Internet-related policy development. Additional educational objectives are:

  • to study the complex relationship which exists between public sector, industry and society in Europe in establishing the European Information Society
  • to stimulate the European dimension in education
  • to study the role of European policies in the development of the European Information Society
  • to compare the developments in the various EU member states and analyse the consequences of these developments
